The 30th FIQ Congress 2009 took place on the 4th of August in Las Vegas, Nevada. The FIQ President, Mrs. Jessie Phua opened the Congress welcoming all delegates and expressing her gratitude to Mr. Kevin Dornberger and the USBC for kindly hosting the meeting.
A total of 34 national federations were present carrying 34 proxies. The following federations were admitted as full members of the FIQ: Serbia Tenpin as part of the WTBA-European Zone, Tunisia as part of the WTBA-Asian Zone, Uzbekistan Pin Sport Federation as part of the WTBA-Asian Zone, whereas Paraguay and Nicaragua were re-instated as full members in the WTBA-American Zone.
After the Presidents’ reports, the Congress proceeded with a presentation of the work of the FIQ Committees, namely the Medical Committee, the Women and Sport Committee, the Ethics and Culture Committee and the Legal Commission. FIQ members were also briefed on the progress of the FIQ web page. The FIQ President informed members about future plans of launching an FIQ World Tour soon and about Presidium’s efforts to promote the development of an African Zone.
The date for the next FIQ Congress was decided to be on the 10th of August 2010 in Munich, Germany.
